Clubland Mallorca

So it’s early June, the British Summer is absent without trace again and we’re sat in Blackburn with the rain falling from a dark grey sky, the aircon on heat and people are sending in suggestions for Christmas singles already. As luck would have it though, salvation was on the horizon. The opening parties of the summer season were looming and this summer, along with our annual Clubland residency every Monday at Bananas in Magaluf, also sees the first Clubland night land on the White Isle of Ibiza every Tuesday at Es Paradis!
So naturally enough we made the case that someone better go along and make sure everything goes ok. Being that we work for some very nice people the flights and hotels were duly booked and we were off (it’s really hard getting up for this job at times…). The girls and the Clubland TV crew went via the Hardcore Weekender in Loret de Mar for a few days to film some footage which will be on Clubland TV in the near future, whilst I flew the advance party straight out to Mallorca.
After I’d spent a few days of intensive market research in the local hostelries of Magaluf, the girls and camera crew joined me on Monday ready for the night ahead at Bananas. Now if you’ve never been, Magaluf might not quite be what you expect it to be. Everyone’s heard of BCM (and if you’ve been you’ll have smelt it too) and you’ve probably seen the pictures of the annual Radio 1 stage in BCM Square, but most of the action in Magaluf happens on the main strip, just up the road from BCM. Banana’s is at the top of the strip and is for want of a better description, a proper British dance club dropped by the sea in the Med. Low ceiling, lots of speakers and every Monday for the past few years, packed full of up for it clubbers at the biggest night in Magaluf dancing to the sounds of Clubland.
Every week on Monday night Clubland takes over Bananas with residents Flip & Fill and a rotation of Clublands top DJs and PAs entertain the Magaluf crowd of Brits, Swedes and Germans - all ‘havin it large’ till 6am. The night we landed saw Graham from Flip & Fill, Pez Tellet from Wi-Fi and MC Junior taking to the decks and stage. If you’re out in Mallorca this summer be sure to check it out, if your not, the pictures below should give you an idea of what you’re missing, it really is a night of pure fun and madness. If you can’t make it this year and are planning your holidays for next year already - we’ll be back next summer starting mid-June.
After making it back to the hotel shortly after sunrise, we crashed for what seemed like five minutes and then, rather broken, headed to Palma airport, destination – Ibiza!
